Cully Neighborhood Farm is a one acre urban farm located in the Cully neighborhood of Northeast Portland, sustainably growing a diversity of mixed vegetables and herbs since 2010. We use sustainable and ecological growing methods to bring delicious produce varieties to CSA members, local restaurants, and other community members through our farm stand and community farming programs. The farm would not exist without our partnership with Trinity Lutheran Church & School, on whose land we farm. The values that drive this work are delicious healthy food, a healthy soil ecosystem, neighborhood-level sustainability and community self-reliance. Farm owner Matt Gordon has been farming since 2008 in Portland and can't get enough of growing delicious things to eat.
Handmade Gardens Urban Farm has been building soil over lawn, nurturing edible forest garden, and growing all the vegetables for the five resident humans, year-round since 2007. We share knowledge and surplus produce with neighbors and others in need, most regularly Right to Dream, Too, a downtown rest area for houseless folks. Humans share the land with domestic ducks and native pollinators. Medicinal plants from European and Chinese herbalism grow integrated with vegetables and 100 species of northwest native plants.

Our wares sometimes appear at the Cully Neighborhood Farmers, Farmer's Market booth. Our projects nurture nature connection. The Kiwi Palace is the home site for the Institute for Earth Regenerative Studies, offering programs at the intersection of creativity, eco-restoration, and the living wisdom traditions (www.earthregenerative.org), including the Women Empowering Climate Action Network (WE-CAN) certificate program in Gaian Resilience and Climate Justice.
Seed and Thistle Apothecary is a monthly pickup of seasonally based herbal preparations from the Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland. These herbal preparations derive from plant medicine that have been organically grown in Cully or ethically harvested from our surrounding forests. A year long apprenticeship is now offered along with the early beginnings of a pop-up herb clinic, called the Seasonal Wellness Clinic, to serve the low income community in the Cully neighborhood. Also in partnership with Rewild Portland we provide herbal education for youth and adults. More information on those youth programs can be found here. Workshops, classes, and customized sacred plant celebrations throughout the season are available along with Individual Consultations to help empower you along the journey of cultivating the wild, the state in which we become aware of the truest parts of ourselves that connect to the inherent wisdom of nature and our bodies.
